3 Days Bwindi Gorilla Safari

The 3 days Bwindi self drive gorilla safari is one of the most sought for wildlife safaris in Uganda. The trip offers a lifetime opportunity of standing face to face with the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Though the main highlight is spotting the mountain gorillas, the hiking journey is also a rewarding experience of its own.

Day 1: Self Drive To Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

After your breakfast at your hotel, you will set off for Bwindi impenetrable forest national park with a stopover in Mbarara City for your lunch break. After your lunch, you will continue on your journey to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park to check into your lodge where you will have dinner as well as spend the night.

The transfer to Bwindi is likely to take you between 9 and 10 hours drive

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking In Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

On the second day of your gorilla safari to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park, you will wake up to a warm breakfast after which you will transfer to the park offices to attend a pre-gorilla trekking briefing by the designated Bwindi impenetrable forest national park rangers.

After the briefing, you will set off for a 3 to 6 hours hike through the impenetrable forest in search for the gentle giants. Upon meeting the gorilla family, you will be allowed to spend one hour with the mountain gorillas after which you will set off to return to the park offices. On your journey to the park offices, you will have a lunch break in case you didn’t have one before encountering the mountain gorillas.

After the gorilla trek, you will return to your lodge, relax a beat and then head out for the Batwa community tour. After the community tour, you will again return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Return To Kampala

Wake up to a warm breakfast at your lodge before embarking on a full day journey back to Kampala/Entebbe. On you way to Kampala, you will have a stop over the equator. Your lunch will also be en-route. You will reach Kampala/Entebbe in the evening. In case your flight is not on this very day, you can check into your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala and simply relax.
