This road trip safari is Uganda’s most rewarding safaris. It goes to one of Uganda top tourist destinations of Kidepo Valley National Park and Murchison Falls National Park. When taking this adventure, you have an opportunity to do some of the most thrilling adventures like rafting at the Nile, hiking the sipi falls, tracking the big five and several wildlife species.
This road trip starts right from Kampala and goes through the eastern route (Jinja road) to the eastern region, continues to northeastern, and return with the northern route (Kampala –Gulu road). In most cases when traveling to a road trip self-drive trips, many of the traveler refer to spend a night at the campsites.
Day 1: Drive to Jinja
After picking up your 4×4 safari vehicle, then will drive eastwards to Jinja city, known as the adventure capital of East Africa. Jinja is an amazing city with great and amazing adventures which are done right at the source of the Nile. Will take a boat ride to the source of the Nile point. In the afternoon hours will head to the Itanda falls to undertake the rafting adventures one of the thrills of Jinja.

Day 2: Drive to Sipi Falls
This day continue driving eastwards via Mbale town and turn to Sipi falls in Kapichorwa. Sipi falls are three phase waterfalls at the foothills on Mount Elgon. With lunch en-route will track all the three waterfalls walking through coffee and banana plantations. After a successful day of watching these amazing roaring downpours, will have your dinner on an overnight at

Day 3: Transfer to Kidepo Valley national park
The third day is one of long journey drives from Sipi falls to plains of Kidepo Valley National Park. This drive is very rich with scenic views of open plains, watching the primitive people of the region walking and some are almost half naked. Reaching Kidepo surely you will exhausted for the day, then will have to relax. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Game Drive and culture visits
Start your morning taking a morning game drive through Narus valley to explore the superb fauna and flora of the park. There are countless odds of finding some individual of the big five category including lions, leopards, elephants and buffaloes. The other amazing encounters are Zebras, giraffes, many antelope species, primates, several bird species like the ostrich and secretary bird among others. After a remarkable game drive will have to refresh with lunch and continue, then in the afternoon hour take a drive to the communities in the reserves around the park for the dramatic Karamojongo cultural entertainment.

Day 5: Transfer to Murchison falls national park
Consider morning refreshements with breakfast, then will embark on a drive to Murchison Falls National Park via Kitgum and Gulu. However, will consider an en-route at Pader and visit the amazing Aruu falls. Then finally will take a drive to Gulu but considering an en-route for lunch depending on the time of travel. Reach Murchison Falls National Park in the late evening hours.

Day 6: Game drive and boat ride
This day, explore the best of the park, take an amazing scenic game drive through the golden savannah dotted with palm and acacia trees. On a game drive is a score to watch the highest concentration of herds of elephants, buffalos, Jackson’s heartbeast, bushbucks, waterbucks, lions, towers of giraffes among many other species.
Have the lunch refreshment and board for an afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls, sight as many aquatic and land wild animals as they come to draw water at the river banks, special sightings here include crocodiles, hippopotamus, beautiful cliffs, many water birds.
The boat ride takes to the bottom of Murchison falls the world’s most powerful falls, then hike to the top of the Murchison falls to watch how the water force into a narrow 7m gorge form a superb thunderous roar. Find your driver at the top of the falls and drive you back to your lodge.

Day 7: Drive back to Kampala, en-route to track rhinos
Following the morning refreshments, embark on a journey back to Kampala. You will en-route to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track the only rhinos in the natural sanctuary in Uganda. Tracking rhinos will enhance your adventure when watched the all the big five mammals. Can consider lunch at Kabalega dinner and then embark on your drive to Kampala about 2 and a half hours.
