International Driver’s license
It’s very necessary for any traveler wishing to do a self-drive in a foreign country to have an international driving permit (IDP). The international driving license is a booklet that translate your domestic driving license into several languages. How long can an international driving license be valid?

The printed International driver’s license is only valid for a period of 3 months and after that, you may need to process a domestic Ugandan license.
How to obtain a driving license in Uganda
If you’re wondering how to get a driving license in Uganda – first, get the application form from TLB branch offices, Banks, and Face Technologies Offices and or download it from the URA Portal. The cost of a new driving permit in Uganda for foreign exchange will be UGX 60,000 and valid for up to three years.
However, when driving in Uganda for a short period of less than three months, you don’t need a Ugandan domestic driver’s license. All you need is having your international driver’s license and your domestic valid license and enjoy the unlimited cruise.
Note about International Driving license
The international driving license doesn’t replace your domestic driver’s license, rather just translate your domestic license into an understandable language. Always move with the two both your country domestic driver’s license and the printed international driver’s license.
